The Kitchen Is Going In

Cooking in a camper van is a pain in the arse. Anyone that tells you differently smells of old food and has weird toenails. Typically you’ll find yourself hunched over and impotent gas flame coaxing life into a congealed pot of beans.  I’m fine with congealed beans but I don’t like sitting and cooking. Or having a van smell like the inside of gym bag.  So having plenty of standing room to work in is really nice.

The kitchen, growing up,  has always been place where tea would be drunk in vast quantities and my mum would be found fastened to the radio with a perpetually warm kettle at her elbow. Kitchens are the Heart Of The Home and seeing a I’ve got room to work with I’m going to make this kitchen as homely as possible.

I must also add that this has turned out to be a headache of enormous proportions which has nearly led me to setting fire to the van out of sheer frustration. But here it is, slowly coming to life in the mid section of te wagon.

  1. I just have to say I love the kitchen area. I was looking for a place to ask where you bought it but found out you built it. Just wonderful.

  2. Love this! Could you please provide details about the sink? I have a tiny house and I’ve been looking for something like that to no avail.
